The Stanley Hotel is known for having full body apparitions, sounds flooding the halls, and unusual activity happening in the rooms. I feel that the hotel is haunted because people have gathered plenty of evidence proving that something paranormal is definitly happening. There have been plenty of witnesses to tell their side of the story about there experiences and back it up the evidence gathered by paranormal investigators. On the TV show Ghost Hunters, TAPS was able to experience the same claims that have happened in the hotel and was able to back it up with evidence. I would say that the Stanley Hotel is haunted and I want to go experience some paranormal activity myself. I would say that something paranormal is happening but cant say its haunted until I go and experience it myself

The paranormal evidence caught in the Stanley hotel is never ending with recordings of people running up and down the halls, EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomena) of ghosts talking, and pictures of apparitions forming. The Rocky Mountian research paranormal society investigated the Stanley Hotel on April 4, 2007 and was very successful on forming a opinion, if the place was haunted or not. They captured on video in room 401 which sounded like a women who "came from the elevator went to her room and then returned to the elevator and left within a 3 minute window." (Rocky Mountian Paranormal) In the concert hall they captured on there recorders what sounds like a door closing, after checking all the doors in the building none of them sounded like the one on the recording. In room 1302 an investigator went in the room, left, and when she came back in all the lights were on. They found out that the lights are on a odd cuircut so the switch can turn on if in the right position. Jason and Grant from TAPS also captured amazing evidence of an EVP which sounds like a little girl saying "Hello" so loud and clear. Grant had an interesting experience while changing a tape on his camera that table he was sitting at lifted up off the ground and drop when nobody was around. (Ghost Hunting Secrets)  Many investigators had there own interesting experiences in this "haunted" hotel. Is the Stanley Hotel really haunted or not?

Stories of paranormal activity floods the halls of the Stanley Hotel leaving guests curious if all these stories are true. When Stephen King stayed in the famous room 217 it was at the end of the season and him and his wife were the only people in the hotel. It was said that he saw two twins, a boy and a girl playing in the hallway who were children of a maid that use to work at the hotel a long time ago (Hage). In 1911 a maid named Mrs. Wilson was lighting a gas lamp, there was a leak and the room blew up. She is reported to still be there in room 217 and is known for unpacking your clothes for you neatly in the dressers and stashing away your luggage in the closet when you leave the room. The fourth floor of the Stanley Hotel is said to be the most haunted floor which includes room 401 where a man reported that he set his rings side by side on top of a dresser, when he came back they were staked up on top of eachother. Theres also been jewlary, watches, and luggage that goes missing in this room. In room 302 two maids were cleaning up the room and stepped out for a minute to talk to somebody, came back in and all the lamps were on the floor, pictures were off the wall, and they didnt hear anything. Also on the third floor of the hotel the windows like to move up and down by themselves frequently. Down by the kitchen the staff has heard a party going on in the ballroom and when they go to check on it there is no one there. The piano would also start playing by itself and it is said that it is Freelan O. Stanley's wife who use to play the piano a long time ago(True Ghost Tales). Those are only a few of many stories reported at the Stanley Hotel, leaving people to question if its haunted or not.

In 1903 Freelan O. Stanley came to Estes Park, Colorado on doctor's orders to improve his health after he was diagnosed with tuberculosis. When his health started to drastically get better, he loved Colorado so much that he wanted to start building a fancy hotel for the rich and famous. Stanley started to build the hotel of his dreams in 1906, and it was completed in 1908 with 138 rooms on 15,000 acres of property(The Stanley Hotel). The Stanley hotel is famous for its room 217 where Stephen King's inspiration came to write "The Shining" (Hage). Jim Carrey has also stayed in room 217 while filming Dumb and Dumber for only two hours and rushed out of the hotel without telling anyone what happened. The Staley Hotel still has a lot of guests that come through wanting to go on ghost tours and stay in the famous room 217 so they can experience something for themselves. Below is a picture of room 217.

The Stanley Hotel is said to be one of the most haunted hotels all across the United States. Sitting on the grounds of Estes, Colorado where ghosts are wandering the halls makes it a popular location to visit. I've chosen this topic cause of all the interesting stuff that has been reported there, like pianos playing by themselves, noise of people having a party when there is no one there and shadows seen at the foot of the bed. After seeing photos and reading about interesting things that have happened at this hotel, I believe that there is something going on but I can't completely say that it's haunted until I expierence it for myself.
